Bronze Boshan Incense Burner

Bronze Boshan Incense Burner

Incense burners were ancient tools used for burning incense, mainly for fumigating clothes, deodorizing rooms, and offering sacrifices to gods and Buddhas. A Box Hill burner consists of a bean-shaped body and a lid with mountain and cloud patterns, generally with a tray. When incense is burned, the smoke billows out from the holes in the lid. Incense burners were popular from the middle to late Warring States period to the end of the Qing Dynasty.
