Earthenware bean pot
This pottery bean, currently before us, dates back to the Majiabang culture period. This artifact can be considered a "bean overlord." The pottery bean has a mouth diameter of 22.8 cm, a bottom diameter of 24.8 cm, and a height of 46.4 cm. It is currently the largest pottery bean unearthed in archaeological excavations in the Wuxi area. Pottery beans were ancient pottery food containers primarily used to hold "vegetables." The tall and stable pottery bean, in use, not only highlighted the visual effect of the "vegetables" in the bean vessel but also corresponded with the ancient people's lifestyle of sitting on the floor, facilitating the picking up of "vegetables." This fully highlights the ingenuity of the ancients six to seven thousand years ago!
